Gemballa - MIG-U1 | Modified Ferrari Enzo Super Car

For the last 27 years, automobile tinker Uwe Gemballa and the firm he established, Gemballa, been advancing the proud engineering heritage of Porsche further with his modified exotic “beast” (i.e. a twin-turbo variant of the Porsche Carrera GT Supercar).  More recently, innovator took on a brand new challenge, to enhance the another exotic super car, the Ferrari Enzo, and pushing the envelope of performance once again.

Not just simple modified Ferrai Enzo, but completely re-engineered, the Gemballa MIG-U1 had its component swapped out for the lightweight carbon fiber.  A customized aerodynamic kit along with a new brake cooling housing means driver could max out in speed with the reassurance that he (or her) is still in control of the vehicle.  Like a true “bespoke” super car, all elements both inside and out of the car are tailored to the owner’s specific needs and/or desires.  The result is a 700-hp monstrosity that could easily blow out the competition.  Unfortunately, because the amount of work needed on each edition, only 25 will be build with 10 colors to select from.

The first day of Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week in New York should have started on a joyful, energetic note with anticipation for the new, the fresh and the creative. Sadly, the mood was dampened as early Thursday morning, the fashion world is greeted with a devastating loss of one of its brightest minds and most irreverent and beloved designer, Alexander McQueen. As the world mourns McQueen’s departure, tributes poured in and stacked up outside his store in London and New York. Flower bouquets, heart-felt notes, collages decorated the storefronts as fans shared their thoughts and fond memories of the designer.
Aside from personal notes, retailers and the British Fashion Council all have elegiac plans for the designer. For instance, Liberty plans to mount a window display in tribute to the designer, named “For McQueen and Country” while Barneys New York has put up a photo of McQueen in a shadow box window at its Madison Avenue location. While the British Fashion Council preps to create a tribute for McQueen at London Fashion Week, there has yet to be details on what the tribute will be. Meanwhile, postmortem on the designer is due to release on Monday and the cause of death should be confirmed by then. All Gone 2009 - Reed Space Release Party Recap

Its fast becoming an annual event as Michael Dupuy and his fellow Parisian troupe of trendsetters, including music producer Busy P, artist SO-ME, and Colette’s Sarah descend into New York during the Fashion Week season for the New York launch of All Gone, the unofficial annal of urban culture and desirables that are no longer available.  Marking  the release event this year is none other than the Reed Space storefront in Lower East Side and its consummate founder, Jeff Staple.  Guests from near, included Eric Haze, Todd James, and far, such as Japanese Hip-Hop artist Verbal, crowded into the space for an opportunity to congratulate Michael and his La MJC team mates for another success.  The gathering also served as a place of “catch-up” for old friends and colleagues.  The All Gone 2009 is available now at Reed Space as well as other selected boutiques world wide.  However, like the subjects it covered, once the book is sold out, its all gone…

APPLEBUM x Wu-Tang Brand - Danny Hastings Photo Skate Deck

Soukwear Loves applebum...This guy has been making Dubstep for a few years now and what he is doing in the artworld needs your attention, yet all good things must come to an end and this is the last piece of collaborative product between APPLEBUM and Wu-Tang Brand. Once again for the last piece they have gone back to the memorable first album photo by Danny Hastings that represents Wu-Tang Clan. Made with Canadian maple wood it is a medium sized board measuring 31 inches long and 7.625 inches wide. The whole bottom of the deck is printed with a photo and the flip side feature a simple double logo and item description over jet black background color. It is a great piece that can be hanged like an artwork or used as it should on the streets.
