Stussy 2010 World Cup T-Shirt Collection Releasing Tomorrow

Releasing Tomorrow
It’s only less that three weeks before 2010 FIFA World Cup will be
drawing hoards of soccer fanatics to sports bars, or for the more
affluent, South Africa. As 2010 FIFA World Cup is one of the
biggest sports events in the world, everyone wants a slice of
the World Cup pie, and brands, retailers and companies
everywhere are looking to get on the World Cup mother ship.
To commemorate and celebrate the epic soccer adventure,
Stussy has created a series of special World Cup t-shirts set
to release tomorrow at Stussy Chapter stores.
There are two designs of t-shirts, one of them tweaks the
classic Stussy logo tee by swapping out the signature
Stussy cities around the world for World Cup teams and
cities and the other plays off Stussy’s signature
photographic t-shirt style. The tweaked photo t-shirts
come in three colorways (each colorway features a
different picture), while the cities t-shirt comes in two
colorways– black and white. Check them out and hit
up your closest Stussy Chapter for something to wear
for the World Cup month (Yes, perhaps you already
have jerseys, but, who has time to do laundry when
there are games to watch?).

Air Souk

The Air Jordan 1 began a legacy that is unrivaled in sneakers.
Now, versions of the Air Jordan 1 are commonly found in
many colorways, and in some ways it taken on the role of
the Nike Dunk, with a simple silhouette can can morph
easily into multiple colorways. Here are six models, each
using the palate for it’s own take on the classic sneaker.
Two black models appear, one with a blue swoosh and
neon laces and the other with a blue sole and laces.
The brown model seems fit for its fall release with two
tones of brown and a maroon swoosh. The gray and
orange model has a varsity styled colorblocking, and
the pink, grey, and white model appears as well.
Finally, a tonal gray model with a black midsole and
collar will be pop up in the fall as well.

Kitsune x Andre Parisien Store | Opening Soon

Something fun will be popping up in Paris very very soon, and
considering it involved the ever-cool record company/clothing
label, Kitsune, and the iconic Parisian graffiti artist,
Andre (a.k.a. Monsieur A), one cannot help but expect something
quite chic, great, and perhaps mind-blowing.
With these two iconic Parisian creative types joining forces,
what other name can be more suitable for this store than
“Parisien”? Perhaps a lot of red, blue and white as we
have been used to seeing from Kitsune plus a lot of playfulness
and cheek from Monsieur A.? Stay tuned to find out more!

Memories Of Malcolm McLaren – Honeyee Feature

Memories Of Malcolm McLaren – Honeyee Feature

2009 didn’t seem like such a good year for talents, as we said
goodbye to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, amongst many
others. While many embarked on this year hoping things might
be better, early in spring, the world lost its punk pioneer
and original agent provocateur, Malcolm McLaren.
On Apr 8, Malcolm McLaren lost his battle against
Mesothelioma (skin cancer), left us with memories and
a significant legacy.Malcolm McLaren, in his hey day,
is the man behind the punk movement, having established
the basis for the self-destructive Sex Pistols, and later on,
the New York Dolls. The man is not only known for his
contribution to music, but also to art, culture and fashion.
A multi-talented man with a great eye, Malcolm McLaren
had a relationship with the queen designer of glam punk,
Vivienne Westwood, have a son, Joseph Corre, who is a
co-founder of racy lingerie label, Agent Provocateur.
In memory of and paying homage to Malcolm McLaren,
some of the greatest influencers and market makers of
today including Hiroshi Fujiwara, Paul Mittleman and
James Jebbia came together to share their memories of
the punk pioneer. Honeyee compiled the men’s stories into
a feature, so do please read on, and get to know the man
from an insider’s perspective. Perhaps, even after he has left us,
we will still be able to learn something new and exciting about
the man who has been more than a man,
as he is a movement all by himself.

All City: The Street Art IPhone App

All City: The Street Art iPhone App
There has always been a controversy about where graffiti art
belongs these days. Does it belong in the museum? Does
it belong in the commercial realm? Or does it, against all
evolution and change, should still belong to the people
and the streets, despite being subjected to possible destruction?
For those who are graffiti purists and believe that street art
should belong in the streets, but still wishes to have easy
access to information about the art like one does at MoMA,
Marcus White and Kayce Thompson-Russ from Brooklyn
have developed the perfect solution called All City.

Simply put, All City is an iPhone application which is quite
like wikipedia. The application allows one to pull up
important or intriguing pieces close to your location, so
if you are in the mood for a little tag here and there, it
will have information on the artist and the piece. And
very much like wikipedia, the application also allows
for user generated content. Users can upload photos,
enter new information and tag works that they
discover on their travels or explorations.
For those who have tried audio guides in museums,
one would know that looking at art with an informed
mind is quite different from simply staring at the visuals.
This is currently available at the iPhone App store,
so do support, download, and give it a quick whirl.

Nike S Ouck B Stefan Janoski Festive Green July 2010

July 2010
There are few monochromatic sneakers the world can absolutely
use more of– tan, navy, and green– a need we never knew
we had before this pair of grassy Stefan Janoski emerged online.
Sure there had been sneakers which remixed green with other
shades such as the recent the Nike Dunk High “Skunk”. However,
one that is wrapped in green from toe to heel, but not overly
grazing and pasture-like, with white and black accents, is a
fairly new presence in the world of kicks. The new Nike SB
Stefan Janoski “Festive Green”, perhaps took inspiration from
the 420 botanical studies, or simply from leisurely lying out
on summery, grassy lawns in the sun. Even if you don’t
particularly believe in recycling, these would be a nice step
in trying to go green (but recycling should definitely come
in later as well). These are set to drop in July, so keep your
eyes wide open and sneaker closet free for these.via: N-SB

In pushing the limits of creative boundary, Alexander McQueen,
PUMA decided to administer a little new blood into its
Spring/Summer 2010 campaign. As for how to scour the
new talent who will undertake this crucial project, the
duo partnered up with SHOWstudio through its Raw
Power competition, and invited talents and viewers
worldwide to create a video short by splicing their
own images and material with footage from Nick Knight’s
“Crane v.s. Tiger” shoot for Alexander McQueen and PUMA’s
Spring/Summer 2010 campaign. The winning artist,
Sean Capone, scored a special commission to direct
the Alexander McQueen x PUMA Spring/Summer
2010 art movie, and it has been named
“The Book of Five Rings”.
Capone drew his inspiration from a 17th century
Japanese classic, “The Book of Five Rings”, which
is a story about a legendary samurai named
Miyamoto Musashi and his philosophy about both
the battlefield and life. Capone has successfully
choreographed his images into an elegant and
spell-binding visual medley that orchestrates a
symphony of shape-shifting rhythm, fashion, movement
and flow. There are five videos in total, each
representing an element in the world– earth,
wind, fire, water and emptiness– and do check
them out here.

NEIGHBORHOOD X BAPE – Bro.Hood Collection BAPE Exclusive

SOUK NEIGHBORHOOD X BAPE
Bro.Hood Collection
BAPE Exclusive
As per reported, Japan’s NEIGHBORHOOD and BAPE share a
little more than just popularity on the streets. Both labels are
born in the streets of Harajuku and first opened up in 1996,
forming a rather formidable and kindred bond. This season,
in revisiting the concept of something a little deeper than
water– brotherhood– the labels came together and collaborated
on a capsule collection of apparel and footwear named Bro.Hood.
This collection sports jackets, short-sleeved button-downs, t-shirts,
sneakers and hoodies, and are two exclusive packs are made to
be distributed at different venues. The darker palette —
a pack of black and navy based items– will be sold exclusively
through NEIGHBORHOOD, and here, we have a lighter, white
and khaki-based collection to be sold exclusively through BAPE.
Despite the variation in color, both collections feature the same
styles and are co-branded with a collaborative monogram logo,
and emblazoned with racing and sports motifs (the collaborative
logo looks quite deceptively like the Yankee logo). The BAPE
exclusive collection, like the NEIGHBORHOOD exclusive, is set
to drop on Jun 19. So simply remember to grab yours to be a part
of the coveted brotherhood.
