First Outer Space Foursquare Check-In | Unveiled New NASA Explorer Badge
The likes of social media and location-based service made a giant leap today as NASA AstronautDouglas H. Wheelock, Commander of Expedition 25, made the first “check-in” from outer space on the popular social media and location-based platform foursquare. With assistance from upstart creative agency JESS3 and NASA, Commander Wheelock was able to check-in at the International Space Station, some 220 miles in orbit above Earth. In becoming the first human to ever check-in from space, Commander Wheelock (call sign “Astro Wheels“) unlocked a brand new foursquare badge – NASA Explorer. Check the video documented the very moment a fun history was made after the jump.
