Nike Lunar Air 180 – White/Ultramarine-Bright Pink
It is more precarious than most people think, the merging of 2 seemingly different sneaker silhouettes that is. Too much or too little, the aesthetic becomes something completely foreign to both the designers and the consumers. This isn’t that. Carefully thought through, the new NikeLunar Air 180 is an amalgamation of not two, but three different concepts – First, the Ultramarine, White, and Bright Pink colorways, along with the 180 Air Unit, obviously remnants from the classicAir Max 180. Second, the LunarLite outsole, a revolutionary technology first introduced in 2008 to coincide with the Beijing Olympics. 30% lighter than any of its predecessors yet more responsive as well. Third, the Torch upper, a lattice work of rigid inlays and lightweight, breathable mesh. Yes, it is a completely new and different sneaker. Yet, the balance in design elements are such that you couldn’t help mistaken it for something else from afar. Set to release this Friday, July 16th as a Quick Strike at select European retailers like sneakersNstuff of Stockholm.
