John Galliano goes all souk on us..

A scene of exploration as designer John Galliano recreated the 1798 Egyptian Campaign by Napoleon Bonaparte and his Armée d’Orient. Though eventually doomed, the military campaign was instead an academic bonanza with establishment of cultural exchange and archeological discoveries, including the all-important Rosetta Stone.

On this premise, Galliano introduced his Spring/Summer 2010 Collection last Fall with the concept of “The Grand Tour”, from the gallantry of Napoleon and his men, through onto the amalgamation of characters and cultures in Egypt at the time, a sentiment quite apparent on the sneakers’ designs. Baroque details on patent leather overlays with premium leather as the base, Galliano’s sneakers have the feel of partially constructed: exposed lining that doubles as breathable mesh, large voids along the angle straps, and etc… Then the designer utilized contrast colorways to emphasis each element of the design. Comes in 3 different color schemes, the sneaker collection for John Galliano Homme is currently available at selective boutiques around the world, including RESTIR of Tokyo
