Louis Vuitton X 2010
FIFA World Cup Trophy Travel Case
The rich and the glamorous and those who understand the
nuances of luxury, understands the importance of traveling
in style. Lugging a shredding duffel across the airport is just
not quite the same as suavely carrying a chic Louis Vuitton
monogram trunk from gate to gate. While Louis Vuitton is
currently perhaps best loved by the ladies for its leather
goods and the extremely popular Speedy bag, the luxury
house’s best craft comes from its heritage customization
cases, designed by special order to hold everything
imaginable from mahjong tiles to medical scapels.
This year, Louis Vuitton celebrates the 2010 FIFA
World Cup in its own style, first with a wonderful
campaign, Louis Vuitton Legends, featuring soccer
legends Pele, Zidane and Maradona, and now, it
has been commissioned to build a special traveling
case to safeguard the prized 2010 FIFA World Cup trophy.
This special order travel case, like all other Louis
Vuitton special customization orders, was was
handmade at the company’s original workshop in
Asnières. It was unveiled today with Patrick Louis
Vuitton, Thierry Weil, Naomi Campbell, Antoine Arnault
Pietro Beccari and Yves Carcelle. Check out images
