We recently showed you a
three-part documentary film that paid respect to the work of J Dilla. Dilla’s production has provided the backdrop for some of our generation’s finest hip-hoppers–A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Tha Pharcyde, and Slum Village, among scores of others. Stones Throw Records, with whom he released the “Champion Sound” and “Donuts” albums, is releasing a Donuts pack album. This pack features three unreleased instrumental tracks selected by Beat Junkie J. Rocc, three altered instrumental versions of songs he crafted for Mos Def, Q-Tip, and Busta Rhymes, two donuts slipmats, and two control vinyl records for use with Serato Scratch Live interfaces.
